Marieta Lou Bassham

Marieta Lou Baker Bassham, 83, of Millsap, went to her heavenly home on September 18, 2016.
Visitation will be held at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford on Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 6 until 8 P.M. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 601 Country Club Parkway, in Mineral Wells, with Brother Bill Shimmel and Pastor Caleb Shipman officiating. Burial will be follow at Soda Springs Cemetery.
Marieta was born in Soda Springs, Texas, to Edwin and Emma Cornelius Baker on July 2, 1933. She graduated from Millsap High School. Marieta retired from PPGH as night switchboard operator. All who came in contact with her knew she loved her Lord, family, and her church.
Marieta is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Emma Baker; her husband, Glennis Ray Bassham; one half-brother, Leon Baker; by and two half-sisters, Nina Baldwin and Lois Jones.
Marieta is survived by one brother, Don Baker of Greenwood; children, Gary (Kathy) Bassham of Millsap, Danny (Maria) Bassham of Mc Allen, Texas, Ricky Bassham of Mineral Wells, and Darla (Bill) Shimmel of Millsap; her grandchildren, Jamie Bassham, John Bassham, Emily Compean, Amanda Bassham, Kevin Bassham, Phillip Bassham, Kyla Reppond and Michelle Shimmel; great-granddaughters, Daelyn, Claire, Grace, and Emma Bassham; great-grandsons, Caua Bassham, Elisha Reppond, Hudson Compean; and by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
