Obituary for Brandon Lynn Dunagan

Brandon “Dunny” Dunagan, 38, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away Saturday evening, November 18, 2017, at his home after a fierce battle with cancer. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 12 Noon, on Saturday November 25, 2017, at Castleberry Baptist Church, 1250 Jim Wright Freeway N. in Fort Worth.
Dunny was born June 2, 1979, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Alan Dunagan and Cheryl Burke. He proudly served his country in the 501st airborne. He was a sergeant, paratrooper, and infantryman in the US Army from 1997 until 2005. Dunny then worked as a compressor mechanic and supervisor for Encore Oil Field Services. Dunny was in a committed relationship with Josey “JoJo” Dunagan for over 7 years before exchanging their vows before the Lord on January 1, 2017. Together, they had two children, Jaxson and Brailee. Dunny gave his life to the Lord and lived his life according to John 15:13 NKJV, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends”. He was known for his trademark beard, his generous spirit, and for being a friend to everyone. Dunny had an incredible sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. Dunny was a wonderful husband and loving father. He enjoyed off-roading, hunting, military and gun collecting. Most of all, Dunny cherished time spent with his wife and children as well as his many friends.
Dunny is survived by his wife, Josey; his children, Jaxson and Brailee; his mother, Cheryl Minnick; several brothers and sisters; and extended family members from Texas to Alaska.
Dunny was proceeded in death by his father, Alan Dunagan.
