Obituary for Betty Jean Moore

Betty "Mumsey" Moore, 84, of Weatherford, and formerly of Horseshoe Bend, passed away early Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Weatherford Regional Medical Center.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 1 P.M., on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service, Saturday, at the funeral home. A private burial is also planned.

Mumsey was born January 19, 1933, in Adams County, Indiana to William and Mabel Young. A long-time resident of Horseshoe Bend, Texas was her true home. In addition to working for 35 years as the Payroll Specialist for Ben Hogan Golf Co., she was an avid golfer and pioneer of the Horseshoe Bend Country and Golf Club. Most of all, Mumsey will affectionately be remembered for her love of family, whom she always put first, and for her many friends.

Mumsey is survived by her children, Debbie Barbee and Tony Kuhn; stepson, Mike Moore; grandsons, Jeromee Kennedy and Jeffrey Johnson, and two great-grandsons; "little brother" Bob and wife Leah Young; and by her nieces, Lori and husband Robin Waggoner, and Lana and husband Greg Hough.

Mumsey was preceded in death by her parents.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Texas Kidney Foundation. www.kidneytexas.org
